Setting Up Your Card Reader

Auction Flex 360 supports taking in-person card payments (tap, swipe, chip, Apple Pay, Google Pay) using a Global Payments card reader. Follow the steps below to get your reader enabled and connected before your first sale.

Supported devices (U.S. only):

  • Verifone P400 Plus

  • Verifone e285

Canadian terminals (e.g., Ingenico Lane 3000) aren't supported yet.

Step 1: Get your account enabled for card readers

Contact AF360 Support to have your Global Payments processing credentials added to your account. This is a one-time setup per account.

Step 2: Physically set up and pair your reader

(Verifone e285 shown; on the Verifone P400 Plus the X, checkmark, and O buttons sit below the 10-key instead of to the side — everything else is identical.)

Connect to WiFi:

  1. Press 1, 5, and 9 at the same time to open the terminal's admin menu, then select Com Control.

  2. Once it loads, go to WiFi → Configuration, and enter password 200331.

  3. Tap WiFi Scan, then Yes to power on the interface, and wait for it to find nearby networks.

  4. Select your network, tap Add, then Pre-Shared-Key (PSK) and enter your WiFi password using the number pad (cycle each key to get capital/lowercase letters and symbols — the terminal will guide you), then Save.

  5. Confirm "Apply settings on interface?" → Yes, wait a few seconds, then OK once you see "Interface started."

  6. Back out with the X/back arrow, Exit, confirm Yes to quit, then X again to leave the admin menu.

Find your Device ID (needed for Step 3):

  1. Press 000 to open Admin, then enter passcode 9416557 and tap OK.

  2. Scroll to Cloud Device ID — copy the value starting with cedevice::. If it instead shows "Hostname," or doesn't start with cedevice::, the device needs to be reconfigured by Global Payments before it'll work with AF360 — contact them first.

  3. Tap Exit.

Step 3: Add the device in AF360

  1. Go to Terminal Devices in AF360.

  2. Click Add Device.

  3. Enter a Name for the terminal (e.g., "Front Desk Terminal").

  4. Enter the Device ID exactly as shown on your reader (from Step 2), including the cedevice:: prefix.

  5. Save.

Troubleshooting

  • "Could not create invoice" error: Make sure all lots in the auction are clerked before processing a Card Present payment.
