The Lot Workspace: Using the Details Column

Updated over 3 weeks ago

On the right side of the screen for the lot list and each tool in the workspace is the Details Column.

By selecting a lot, the Details Column is populated and the selection menu will popup.

From this column, you can edit lots as needed, adding detailed information and assets, viewing activity logs to know when a lot was updated and when, and creating notes for both external and internal use.

Further, the buttons/alerts at the top of the Details Column from left to right are:

  • Lot is Unsynced: the lot is out of sync with the server

  • Duplicate Lot: creates a copy of the lot in the auction

  • Delete Lot: deletes the lot from the auction

  • Go to the Details Page: takes you to the full page version of the Details Column

Details Tab

The Details Tab gives important auction information for a lot, allowing you to set prices, starting bid, and more. Further, the “Title” and “Description” are what will appear in the lot on HiBid.

At the top of the tab are four buttons:

  • AI Tools: Discussed below, this allows AI to help you write the title and description.

  • Copy: Creates a duplicate of the lot.

  • Delete: Deletes the lot and removes it from the manifest.

  • Go to Details: Opens the Details Column in full screen.

  • Minimize Pane: Minimizes the column for more space.

AI Tools

Our AI tools can help edit and optimize the information on your lots, but work best when you’re following these best practices:

  • Adding a title and description gives the AI specifics to work off of, even if you only give it high level details

  • Adding at least 5 images of the lot is the optimal amount of visual information for the AI to determine what the object is

Once the AI has enough information, the AI Button will appear. Click it to write or rewrite the “Title” and “Description” in the Details page.

Once the AI loads the suggestion, it will show up like below:

Whenever the AI suggests a change, you need to approve it; this ensures that a human has checked over the AI output and has made sure there isn’t anything incorrect about it. If it’s close, but not quite perfect, you can approve it then edit it yourself, or you can reject it and try again, either letting the AI try again with the existing information or by adding more information to the description and title.

To approve the AI suggestion, click the Checkmark, or click the X to reject it. You can individually approve/reject each suggestion, or you can approve/reject all suggestions from the original AI button.

Assets Tab

The assets tab shows all assets associated with the lot.

An Asset is a media file, such as an image or video link, that enhances the text, title, and/or description.

Adding Assets from the Details Column

Typically, it’s easiest to add media assets to a lot through the Media Gallery, as discussed here: The Media Gallery

However, you can add assets from the Assets tab in the Details Column as well; click Upload Assets in the upper right corner.

Select the file you want to upload and select Open.

The file is then added as an asset to the lot.

Adding Links

Click Add Link.

Enter the URL into the URL text box and any description you’d like to add, then click Save.

The link is now added.

You can edit or delete with the Edit and Delete buttons respectively.

Activity Tab

The Activity Tab shows every change made to a lot and when.

Notes Tab

The Notes Tab allows you to create notes for internal use.

Type the note you would like to add to the lot into the Note text box and click Add Note.

The note is now added.
