How to Pause a HiBid Auction

How to pause and resume a live or online HiBid auction from My.HiBid.

You can pause a live or online auction from My.HiBid to handle an unexpected issue without losing bids or needing to manually recalculate lots.

Pause the Auction

  1. Go to your active auction in My.HiBid.

  2. Click Pause.

  3. Confirm the pause when prompted. Only confirm when you're ready to stop bidding — this step exists to prevent accidental pauses.

Note: Only accounts with auctioneer-level access can pause or resume an auction. If you don't see a Pause button, check your account permissions.

Resume the Auction

  1. Click Resume. It appears in the same place Pause did.

  2. Enter how many minutes before the pause you'd like the auction to resume from. Leave this at 0 to resume exactly from the moment you paused — this is the recommended and simplest option.

  3. Confirm to resume. All bids are kept exactly as they were, and the auction picks back up from the point you chose.

Rollback minutes, explained: If you pause at Lot 47 and enter a 10-minute rollback, any lots that were active in the 10 minutes leading up to Lot 47 reopen for bidding. Lots outside that window aren't affected, and no bids are lost or need to be manually recalculated.

What Bidders See

When you resume, bidders see the auction go active again immediately. If you entered a rollback, any lots that reopened will show as biddable again. No bids are ever lost. For a bidder-facing explanation you can point your bidders to, see Why Is This Auction Paused?
